DIALECT

Dialect are a hip hop crew from South Shields which is the south side of the mouth of the Tyne. They tell tales of the lives they live on and in the council estates of one of North East grittiest area. Although they are honest about the reality of living among the usual problems associated with drugs, poverty, lack of prospects and the general downbeat giro lifestlyes of the area they always maintain that they have a loyal dedication to thier patch of the world. They also manage to wrestle humour and hope from this reality and are well known locally for lively sets of geordie hip hop.

For hip hop cred they got a 3 star review for their first album in Hip Hop Connection and they have supported many of the top UK names including, Chester P, Skinnyman, Wiley, Jesht and many others.

"This is no easy listening this is cruel and real the sound of life in the bus lane. The boredom of the nine to five, settling for less than what you think you deserve. This isn’t the sound of Just Jack this is the sound of having jack shit. No stars in your eyes here. Well not unless you count the beams from the 527 blinding you as you wait for the bus. Like a beatnik poet on a mission for the all night garage, picking the scabs off the 21st century. The beauty of Dialect and that’s what it is, is that we can get through with hope and aspirations." - Mark Gibson, local Newcastle journalist.
