Jump-up Country Punk meets Indie Pop Oddness !
SOME DOGS
Band members have been on the country & punk scene in England
for twenty years, having served time with bands like Demented
Are Go!, Big Boy Tomato, Macavity's Cat, The Mekons, The Men
They Couldn't Hang, Do The Moog, Hagar the Womb, The Buc-Buc-Bucket
band. The band was formed by Jim Dog & Big Bird on a simple
premise - country tunes & lyrics kick emotional ass but
if they were speeded up and put through a Marshall they would
kick audio ass too. This turned out to be correct. Some Dogs
champion some of the cheesy classic currently denegrated by
the new country orthodoxy. They also play some lesser known
corkers, which they believe merit wider appreciation.

HELLO WEMBLEY
"Weird keys and lopsided guitar, the playing is raw and
ruff…elements of Art Brut but the vocals remind us too
of The MC5 and The Velvet Underground, synth punk gurus of some
note"
"Punky, trashy, a real garbage can of rock"
They've played headline slots at The Hope and Anchor, Islington,
The Purple Turtle, Camden, The legendary Afterdark Club, Reading,
The Cellar Bar and South Hill Park arts centre.
They've had support slots with Innercity Pirates ( formerly
My Red Cell, V2 ), Ratattagg ( Rorry Bratwell, Testicicles ),
Goodbooks, Laura Marling and Matthew Greener (Morning Runner
).

MOZZY GREEN
'Mozzy Green are a strange and unique band but something universal
and fundamental about what they do makes incredibly diverse
groups of people all individually connect with them. If they
don't make it in music, then there is something tragically wrong
with the world' - Chris Meales, Editor, Panic Magazine
'Mozzy Green are already one of the stand out acts of this
year. Their line up a touch unconventional, acoustic guitar
with cello and drums, their music builds and enchants through
effortless melodies and emotive performance'
- The Bull and Gate
'Really like their sound, it's vibey in the best way' - minnie
driver, actress

THE PRELUDE
Any group who refer to the guitar as ‘the gitbox’
are always going to be worth a listen. Describing themselves
as ‘less rock and more roll’, Liverpool’s
The Prelude are a bewildering proposition. Melding Dylan with
the wildness of The Pogue’s they have crafted a sound
that is drowning in whiskey, rhythm and thought. Tight, dextrous
and laden with hooks it would be easy to get lost in their unified
Irish jamboree of big choruses and whimsical folk. However beneath
the collective euphoria lies true lyrical depth. Telling sad
stories with an expert eye, eloquent narratives rich in texture
are weaved; all pathos, melancholy and social observation. Overwhelming
live, it would be impossible to not be swept up in their shamelessly
high spirits. Not to mention the all-for-one-hedonism of their
after parties which are so raucous they provoked a Neighbourhood
Watch protest march.
