BORED YOUTH ON PROZAC ON 29th MAY 2008

The best in upfront alternative post-modern rock'n'roll debauchery !

THE BAD ROBOTS

They play flat out rock and roll with solid helpings of ska bashed in for good measure. Aspiring to the heights set by their idols The Clash, The Beatles and The Jam, they make music in the belief that rock and roll is about getting sweaty and that it’s about jumping to, yelling at and cheering for your favourite band. They came together to make a band that plays music that makes people feel good. And not in a creepy 'kissing your best friends younger sister' good. We mean cut to the bone, bounce around the room with no pants on and your shirt over your head, breaking the strings off your tennis racket, covering the hairbrush handle in spit good. So, with members ranging from clean cut right through on a degrading scale to debaucherously hairy, and pulling in influences from ridiculous places, putting their hearts in their mouths and biting down hard as hell, you get them, The Bad Robots. Sounds like fun now don't it??

’the people of Coventry must be a severely disillusioned bunch! firstly The Specials denounced their ’ghost town’, then The Enemy announced they’d ’had enough’. and now Pint Shot Riot are extolling the virtues of ambition and chasing dreams. and we’re listening. Their debut single ’punches kicks trenches and swords’ echoes the sound of their hometown contemporaries, with the noble stance of The Clash thrown in for good measure’. - Clash magazine - Jan 08

LITTLE TROPHY

Stop-start pronky thrash pop with time changes and wailing synths!

Influences: Cardiacs, Mr Bungle, Split Enz, Deerhoof, They Might Be Giants

"Little Trophy are one hell of a proposition; their songs are packed with ideas and invention, with infectious tunes wrapped around manic drumming. They put themselves on a tight-rope with each song, but they emerge at the other end every time … here we have a band pregnant with the most exciting possibilities." - ORGAN

"Prog and punk were never meant to go together. Little Trophy, however, have somehow found a way to mix the seemingly incompatible ingredients of fast visceral noise and complex time-signature structures. Following in the footsteps of cult buffoons the Cardiacs, they've developed a sound as frantic and frenzied as it is engrossing. It's also pretty funny. Especially when the band is decked out in the customary attire - a motley crew of shifty gangsters and loony composers."

OLD BASFORD

“Old Basford have succeeded in creating a deafening buzz around Nottingham and are ready to spread their wings and go big time.” Having played extensively throughout the U.K. over their three years together Old Basford’s friendship and lifestyle is now effortlessly expressed within their Heavy soulful boogie. Their sound is unobtainable to anyone lacking single minded devotion to rock and roll. Tight, insatiable rhythms somehow contain the raw energy stirred up by powerful, impassioned vocals. All is irresistibly engaging, all conspiring to set this band apart from fashionable pretenders. Old Basford have tapped into rock and rolls’ main artery and share its life blood with influences such as Queens of the Stone Age, The Black Keys and The Band. Old Basford are doing their best to return excitement and credibility to British Rock music.

"This rules. An amalgam of Skynyrd and Grand Funk Railroad. Whisky drenched finger picking and barroom belligerence" - Kerrang 4/5

"The bastard offspring of Clutch and Queens Of The Stone Age with a bit of ZZ Top thrown in for good measure" - Rocksound

"This is magnificent, thrilling music. Like it belongs to another era, one where they would be lauded as champions. It's heart warming smiling inducing rock bliss. Album of the year without doubt - if it weren't an EP that is" - Ninehertz.com
