LET THEM EAT GAK ON 3rd June 2008

This week stadium electro post-rock shoegaze with:

KITSCH

"Art in pretentious bad taste": that's what kitsch means and that's what KITSCH does. An extravagant combination of pop melodies, funky riffs, groovy bass and rocking drums, blended with the essential elements and soundscapes stolen from the dance culture makes KITSCH quite different from your typical favourite pop rock band, yet eventually that's what it's meant to become!

Influenced by a multitude of sounds including Muse, The Killers, Bjork,U2, Pearl Jam, Queen, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Depeche Mode, Pink Floyd, and House Music.

THE BRIDGEHEADS

The Bridgeheads are a London-based alternative band formed in 2007 originating from Central Europe (Slovakia).
Their organic sound is a mix of rich guitar textures and a combination of intricate and linear drumming, woven together with intensely penetrating vocals. Their songs often deal with personal themes and the things that aren't so nice about life. dAsK's angst-ridden and ironic lyrics are brought to life by his unique voice using all of its elements, including falsetto. "For me sound is visual, and we as a band are literally drawing our music as if with a paintbrush ", explains Tomas, who keeps a tight leash on everything related to the band, from doing his own artwork to shooting the bands music videos, his attention to detail ensures the whole aesthetic of the band is true to them.

Fragile, tense and personable, The Bridgeheads` music is built in the mould of a long line of bands that see a beauty where the others can't, you could call it expressionism.

SLEEPING WITH ANTARES

Cosmic melodies attracting and merging to empower an endless explosion of sound like stars accepting their final days of light before turning into a supernova.
This is what you have to expect from Sleeping With Antares.
The name just says it all.
Expect to hear spacey effects combined with gentle melodies resembling a trip through the universe.
Their post rock influences perfectly marry their punk origins always avoiding stereotypes and staying within the boundaries of a new sound that brings comfort to your ears.
