LET
THEM EAT GAK ON 10th June 2008
This week quirky indie punky cabaret with:
KITE SEASON
Kite Season produce a semi-acoustic set of quirky indie, with
frontman Kurt Cooder having gritty lyrical tales and observations
of life that make you feel like you have a rabid dog with teeth
sunk into your ankles hanging on for grim death. They are influenced
by The Moderately Impressive Indoor Fireworks Display, Wheat
Maida, Red Star Gestapo and Supra Lunar.

ORCHARD HILL
One of South East London's youngest and hottest new indie prospects.
Orchard Hill are gathering a momentum that could propel them
to the very top - come and see what all the fuss in about!
Apparently they sound like dylan meets libertines with a dash
of lewisham?

THE QUIRKY
The Quirky was born out of desperate need to uplift the boringly
bland music scene that seems to lack any sense of true creativity
in most cases.
Started as an acoustic act, it has grown into this dynamic four
piece, fronted by a squirrel-donkey-rabbit mongrel, a giraffe
on guitar, mole on bass and penguin on drums.
Venues they have played at include: Bull and Gate, Fiddler’s
Elbow, Hope and Anchor and many other. The Quirky has headlined
shows in Roundhouse (Quirky Music Night, Nov 3rd 2007) and Slimelight
(Goth Mayhem Live, March 22nd, 2008).
They sound like Nick Drake vs Jimi Hendrix vs Syd Barrett vs
Led Zeppelin vs Jefferson Airplane vs Gorillaz vs Pink Floyd.

REMEMBER WHEN
In the bosom of gracious Britannia a pain rises...
Concerned children molesting dead mosquitoes... train stations
and bus Stops, graced with only one desolate bus, a bus that
never arrives.
The sound of solemn men linked to desperate whores, the cry
of an Unsatisfied lover, reeling from argument...
The joy of a thousand birthdays frozen and shattered by the
cold bite of Technology.
And the sound of a pathetic poet lingering in a sad state of
self admiration, Asking himself, 'do I remember when... ?'
"Kicks off like fizzymetal and turns into wirey indeed
Wirey quirk pop. But the overall impression is buzzsaw punk
pop. Vital Razorlight/Strokes touches and plenty of early Clash
in here for sure…" - Bugbear London
"It is a very honest and very tight piece of work... 50,000
points" -THE PROMOTER (popworld promotes)
