PUNK SANDWICH 9th APRIL 2008
SCROTUM CLAMP
Scrotum Clamp are a live institution. You will remember your
time in their presence. Be it the flamboyant if slightly disturbing
costumes, the chance of walking away with one of the prizes
from their famous raffle (which have included a kangaroo hide,
Hovis’s tonsils, and a guest spot in the band) or the
hard pumping rock punk ska cabaret infused music.
"Cabaret idiocy with traces of glam, punk and ska. A happily
stroppy singer, a versatile bunch of musicians, and a stack
of props and costumes. The core of the Clamp is an ambling blues-funk
bass with disco-scratch and tickles from guitar - and no shortage
of groovy improvisation"

SLUMMIN ANGELS
Slummin Angels are a young, promising, fresh band from East
London. Their energetic live performances and loud indie tunes
have been compared to the likes of The Subways & The Pixies.
Their raw sound and catchy songs make this band a must to see
live!
"… I give credit to any band that's got a female
singer that sounds like Frank Black outta The Pixies!!!! Very
well executed Pixies style 90s shaped indie. Pavement type dynamics
and simplicity reigns… it's a yes for us". - Bugbear

MAGNA SAGA
Cool as f**k! Rock trio Magna Saga are nothing short of frightening.
Mixing heavy bass lines with lashings of powerful, hook riddled
guitar lines, and groaning vocals that seem forever out of reach,
Magna Saga are a killer cocktail of violently catchy indie rock.

AXE KID
Meet new Brit rockers AXE KID. Led by the sexy spunky
sibling power pair Kid Max and Axe Girl, the super colourful
rock-riot-peroxide-pop-electro-five piece have exploded onto
the scene in an array of pink lightning bolts. With Bexray strutting
it on synths, Wolverine slamming it on bass, and Welax ripping
it on drums, AXE KID are unstoppable. Influenced by punk, glam,
metal and rave, Axe Kid sound like Blink 182, The Chilli Peppers,
Skunk Anansie, No Doubt and Biffy Clyro at war with Madonna.
"Dressed head to toe in fluorescent colours, with spiky
bleached hair and funky makeup, they look like a throw back
to 80’s glam rock injected with a hit of new rave... Good
Cop/Bad Cop blows the crowd away." - F*@k Magazine
